Gospel | Community | Mission
The church is to live joyful lives of faith in Jesus Christ through the gospel, in community with his followers, on mission to make disciples of all nations. We are to be a people preoccupied with love: abiding in God’s love for us, seeking to love God with all our heart, soul, and strength, and loving our neighbors as ourselves.
The Gospel is the good news that Jesus Christ came as our Lord, died as our Savior, and resurrected as our King. Because of Him, we can now live in right, wonderful relationship with God the Father. The Gospel is foundational to who we are and what we do. It is from the power of the Gospel that we can know God and have power over sin and death by the authority of God.
Central to the Scriptures is the movement from word to flesh. As people who have faith in the Gospel, we are learning to flesh out the words on the pages of the Bible. We are called to let Jesus live through us as “little Christs” or Christians as a result of the Gospel.
If you would like to contact someone to discuss the gospel, wow, we would love that! Just reach out via the contact page and we can have a conversation.
Our new identity in the gospel makes us family, through no merit of our own. Because of Jesus, we are adopted into the family of God. Through faith in Jesus we believe we are Children of God and brothers and sisters with one another. We are set apart to live in such a way that the world would know what He is like. Neighbor by neighbor, we display and advance the Kingdom of God together.
We do this by being the Church with others who are living and learning to live as disciples of Jesus Christ together. Biblical community is first and foremost rooted in our identity as sons as daughters. From that foundation, we are learning to live with a focus on the love of God and love of neighbor (Mark 12:28). More specifically, we fight for individual and communal rhythms of:
- Communion (love of the Father)
- Unity (love of one another)
- Mission (love of others – the lost, poor, or oppressed)
Put simply, community can be defined simply as this:
- The called out children of God living life together as a spiritual family advancing the Kingdom of God and making disciples.
We have more information available about the Radius Network and our participating communities. If you would like to talk to someone in more detail about what community is or how you might participate in a Radius community, reach out via the contact page.
When Jesus was asked in Mark 12 to give the greatest commandment, he responded with what is called the “Sh’ma.” It means “to hear, to do.” As followers of Jesus, we respond to the Gospel by loving God, loving our neighbors who are Christians, and loving our neighbors who are lost, broken oppressed and poor.
To love is to act in some way that decreases self for the betterment of another. The New Testament gives us an understanding of what God/neighbors receive as love.
God desires all people to know His love. He has left us with one plan: for disciples of Jesus Christ to make more disciples of Jesus Christ. And in order to do this, the Church must partner with Jesus Christ as He raises up apostles, prophets, teachers, evangelists, pastors, fathers, mothers, business leaders, and leaders of all types to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ.
We believe that, in Jesus Christ, everyone has the Holy Spirit of God – which makes everyone a priest with the authority to make disciples. To live as a follower of Christ is to make disciples of Christ, just as He did and instructed us to do.
We fully hope that all believers would multiply by preaching the Gospel to others, training them to love God and neighbor in community, and teaching them to make disciples themselves.
If you are interested in learning more about being equipped to make disciples that make disciples, we encourage you to check out Blueprint, our leadership development process. After every Sunday night gathering, we host a Radius Intro where we discuss our Core Values in more detail. We would love to meet you there!
